The Boards of Commissioners for the North and South Broward Hospital Districts, doing business as Broward Health and Memorial Healthcare System, have both voted unanimously to appoint Shane Strum to become the Interim Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Healthcare System. They also get to maintain Strum as their President & CEO of Broward Health.
Upon being promoted to this position, Strum reaffirmed his dedication in improving health care delivery systems in Broward County with specific aim of using partnership to increase the quality service delivery. He said that he has a mandate to facilitate the improvement of health systems, and that both HISs should be permanently optimised to achieve the goals of enhancing health care.
Both health systems’ leaders reacted positively to the announcement stating that it creates a chance to refocus efforts on partnership programs on the way to enhancing the healthcare system in South Florida. North Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners Chairman Christopher Pernicano and South Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Elizabeth Justen also trust in Strum’s abilities. They stressed that it is possible to forge a new course for the two health systems under his leadership and each continue its work to achieve its own aims while striving, together, for a vastly improved healthcare experience for the people they serve.
